Mountaintop Pre-fab

Quarry Stools

This series of stools from Leland International takes forms from nature and simplifies them. The symmetrical shapes work well for seating, and by configuring the pieces, one can create spaces with very organic, natural feels. A distinct and intentional stitch line mimicking a rock fissure helps to further define the shape.

How We Design a Custom Area Rug

Working with our friends at Edward Fields, we are designing a custom 9′x9′ area rug inspired by the works of Brice Marden. Mixing both loop and cut piles to create texture, the meandering color layers held within the construct create a dynamic contrast between organic looseness and conformity.

Shown along with the preferred sectional style is the selected primary fabric – a fantastic grey mohair with a complimentary leather welt – and some possible throw pillow fabrics to introduce some color.

These Master BR dressing area closet doors are just being installed today. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the quality and layups/patterning of the burl. The top, flip-up doors and the custom pulls will be installed later this week. It’s always exciting when the finishes for a project start to come together.

On behalf of our client we toured this exquisite property at 1 Lex. Our friend Monica Rittersporn, a SVP at Corcoran features the listing here. Take a walk through the past to a time (likely 40 years ago) when saturated colors and graphic wallcoverings were all the rage. A total fixer-upper but with amazing potential, we were so enchanted with this space and its pre-war details that we had to put our design ideas on paper. Interior photos, a current floor plan and our reconfig hand sketches follow ..
